Merriam-Webster defines brunch as a meal that combines both breakfast and lunch, and is usually eaten in the late morning timeframe. However, I define brunch as a time where we all get together and rehash the weekend over comforting food and boozy drinks. We roll out of bed with a surge of happiness, revived by the idea of fluffy Belgian waffles, a hearty burger, and a fat bloody Mary are only minutes away. If it wasn’t obvious already, a world without brunch is definitely not a world I want to live in. Now, I’ve compiled a list of the best NoWait restaurants for you to brunch at, hoping that you fall in love with brunch, just as much as I have.
Magnolia House, Pasadena, CA. Rise and shine, because this is certainly a brunch you do not want to miss out on. Eggs are the name of the game here, from huevos rancheros, eggs benedict, to the ancho omelet made up of ancho tomato salsa, avocado, smoked gouda, cotija cheese, and home fries. Now that’s no yolk!
Martys Market, Pittsburgh, PA. This hot spot is a little slice of heaven serving up some wild and exciting dishes. From NOLA-style crab gumbo, to pig head torchon made with Berkshire torchon, pork jus, fried egg, and griddled bread, to their signature beer shop mancakes, which are pancakes made with victory summer beer, candied house bacon, fried egg, cinnamon butter, and, of course, maple syrup. Pair your brunch dish with one of their five specialty cocktails to wash down your meal right!
Sleepy Bee Cafe, Cincinnati, OH. Looking for locally sourced, healthy food? The Sleepy Bee Cafe will satisfy both your diet and your breakfast cravings, while having a low impact on the environment. Even with such a commitment, you can still expect your breakfast favorites: we recommend the pancakes and build your own omelets.
Pearl Dive Oyster Palace, Washington, DC. For those desiring a seafood flare to their brunch, this is definitely the right place for you! The pontchartrain is a customer favorite, served with two poached eggs, blue crab, tasso ham, and crawfish, all topped off with cayenne hollandaise. Or why not try a seafood crepe made with crab, shrimp, and truffle mornay sauce, all wrapped up in a light, sweet corn crepe. So dive on in and sink your teeth into one of these savory dishes!
© Caturra, Arlington, VA. You know where your priorities lie if you’re more than thrilled by the fact that cocktails take up half of the brunch menu_ With drinks like dark and stormy, and southern smash, you definitely need to plan an easy rest of your day, post-brunch. The © features unique options such as a white breakfast pizza with chili, pancetta, and baked eggs, as well as their out-of-this-world French toast, drizzled with hazelnut maple syrup. Their open face omelets, which has all of the omelet stuffers atop of the omelet face. While you are here, you must try Rachel Rays favorite, the San Diegan, which has a bed of sour cream and home fries topped with Portobello mushrooms, tomatoes, bacon, green onions, feta, and cheddar cheese.

Dishes include many savory items such as the FEZ omelette filled with creamy goat cheese and grilled gyro, the golden egg scramble tossed in a mild yellow coconut curry sauce, and the breakfast pasta made with sausage, pepadew peppers, and scrambled eggs. But what makes this meal even more fabulous? $4 signature cocktails. Now that’s one heck of a bargain.

You can’t go wrong with the spring scramble, which is rich with high quality fixins such as asparagus, oyster mushrooms, spring squash, Swiss chard, garlic, shallot, grained potatoes, and goat cheese. But lets not forget about that sweet tooth that needs some TLC. The deux broiche French toast is certainly a winner as it comes with sliced bananas and bacon, and all drizzled in luscious nutella. I know I’m drooling.
